Free Instagram engagement rate calculator: enter followers, likes and comments to get your engagement rate and see how it compares with accounts of your size.
Engagement rate shows how many of your followers actually interact with your posts. Brands look at it before paying for a collaboration, and Instagram uses engagement to decide how far a post travels.
Formula: (average likes + average comments) ÷ followers × 100. Use the average of your last 9–12 posts for an honest number.
Smaller accounts usually have higher engagement because their audience is closer. If your rate is low, post more Reels, reply to every comment in the first hour and use story polls to warm up your audience before posting.
Add the average likes and comments of your recent posts, divide by your follower count and multiply by 100.
For accounts between 10k and 100k followers, 3% is good. For accounts under 10k, aim for 4% or more.
Instagram counts them too. If you can see saves and shares in Insights, add them for a more complete number.
